UTAR Inter-Faculty Games was held at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)’s sports complex and it had successfully attracted the support of students from different faculties.
The event consisted of 5 categories, namely futsal, basketball, table tennis, tug of war and captain ball.
However, the tug of war category is closed due to low responses for participation.
“It is unquestionable that Faculty of Business and Finance captain ball team was stronger than I expected. They performed quite well today and I really enjoyed watching the games,” said Li Sing, a captain ball player.
Mr. Steven Ngan, from DSA (Sports and Recreation Unit), congratulated the organizing committee and hoped every player could enjoy the games in his speech during the opening ceremony.
Inter-Faculty Games is a sporting event that brings students and lecturers together from the different faculties to compete over the games as well as to improve the relationship between students and
lecturers from different faculties as they have fewer opportunities to get to know each other.
The chairperson, Loh Jia Hui from Commerce Accounting course stated that “winning is not everything, but good sportsmanship is more important”.
The winner of Men’s single table tennis, Brandon Ong said, “I feel grateful to have the opportunity in winning this competition and this honor goes to my trainer who has inspired and trained me throughout the years”.
USSDC points were awarded to the students who participate in the competition through online registration. This event was not only opened for students but also staff and lecturers.

Ping pong competition was held in UTAR’s gym room.
