KAMPAR – UTAR Crime Prevention Society was delegated to organise new committee recruitment for Safety and Non-smoking Campaign June 2017 in line with its ongoing agenda to provide the students some precautions on their personal safety while doing sport activities.

The campaign will educate students and healthcare providers about the rapid increase in youth sports injuries, the necessary steps to prevent sport lovers from getting injured and the need to keep young athletes healthy.

The sport safety campaign highlights include teaching proper youth sports injury prevention techniques to the students as many UTARians are also the sport lovers, so it becomes advocate for sports safety and take the preventative measures to keep students' safety in the game.

Moreover, sports injuries among athletes are on the rise, especially the escalation of injuries in young people is the most alarming given by the fact that there is a lack of attention paid to proper injury prevention.

Prior to this, the society strives to share information about the sport safety to the UTAR students through the Safety and Non-smoking Campaign which will be started from June 15th till 19th organised at Multipurpose Hall in Block A and Student Pavilion II in Block K.

According to the organiser of the campaign, the campaign aims to educate the University community on personal safety strategies and some simple and effective steps to protect the students from getting injured in sport activities, while the campaign also welcomes the lecturers, staffs and students to participate as USSDC points will be awarded as well.

Although the campaign is planned to organised in next semester, but the recruitment of new committee for this meaningful campaign was started from the beginning of this semester which encourages fresh bloods to work together to deliver the tips on sports safety effectively.

Before this, there were also similar campaigns conducted by the society in order to raise the people awareness on train safety and expose them the possible dangers if they ignore the do’s and don’ts of the train safety.
