The 24th Convocation in UTAR

Graduands threw their graduation caps to the air to draw an end of their university life.
Kampar- Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) held its 24th convocation from 18 to 19 March 2017, with a total of 2,628 graduands throughout the four sessions over the two-day period.
Of the 2,628 graduands, 9 of them received their phDs, 66 received Master’s degree and the rest received bachelor degree.
The Guest of Honor throughout the four sessions were Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan, the second Minister of International Trade and Industry for session one, Tan Sri Tan Koon Swan, the Chairman of Tungling Group for session two, Dato’ (Dr) Anwar Fazal, the Director of Right Livelihood College (RLC) for session three, and Rosemary Tan Mei Ling, the Creative Director of Palam Mesra Sdn Bhd for session four.
Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman had been highy reputed as one of the fastest growing private higher education institution in Malaysia. It has grown from 411 students in 2002 to the accumulation of 26,000 students today.
During the speech giving session, Ir. Professor Academician Dato’ Chuah Hean Teik , the President of UTAR expressed his happiness by telling the audiences that “ I am extremely delighted to inform that UTAR is ranked TOP 120 in the Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings, which was announced on 15 March recently.”
“However, we shall not rest on our laurels. We promise that we shall work harder to improve the education of future generation,” said the president of UTAR.
YABhg Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik, the Chancellor of UTAR had also given speeches throughout the sessions, hoping the best for the future endeavors of the graduands.
“Now as you graduate and embark on a new journey in the world of work, you will inevitably encounter many more changes as well as challenges in career as well as in life,” said the Chancellor of UTAR.
“Those who look only to the past and linger aimlessly in the present are certain to miss opportunities,” he added.
